    My Qualifications

     

    I am a certified Somatic Experiencing Practitioner and international assistant of the training, a Neuro-Affective Touch Practitioner, a graduate of the Bodynamics Foundations Program and a graduate of the Integrated Prenatal and Perinatal Dynamics Program with Kate White and Lois Tresize for healing early and intergenerational trauma.

     

    These body-based therapies are effective in supporting clients to experience safety and connection. They also aim to release defensive bracing and discover new meanings, empowerment and creativity in life. Sessions are held in a safe space and mindful pace, in order to provide the needed support for renegotiating difficulties and transition moments that may have confusing, overwhelming or even violating in life.

     

    I am also a teacher of trauma-informed gentle yoga and qi gong, offering individual and group classes that help improve self-regulation capacities, create community, and support trauma-healing. These classes are taught bi-lingually in Arabic and English.

     

    Last but not least, I am the proud co-founder of a boutique holistic wellness facility in Dubai - Body Mind You, or BMY for short :).

    Humanitarian Initiatives & Community

    Supporting humanitarian aid initiatives for the Arab region and internationally, I am a trustee and volunteer for tools4innerpeace.org, offering trauma-informed yoga trainings to vulnerable communities, refugees and survivors of war.

     

    I am also an assistant for Somatic Experiencing Training in Europe and Internationally and very proud to be on the Arabic translation team for the SE introductions and trainings in Beirut, Cairo and Dubai.

    Private Practice

    My private practice is online. Individuals seeking help in emotional, physical and spiritual pain related to developmental, shock and complex trauma benefit from these sessions. They are helpful to work with anxiety, panic, discomfort, grief, rage, fear, disgust, numbness, overwhelm, and the sense of disassociation or disconnection. Physiological symptoms related to stress and trauma, such as IBS, Fibromyalgia, High Blood Pressure and other auto-immune conditions, can also be supported and relieved. I recommend starting with a free discovery call to answer questions before deciding to begin somatic therapy.

     

    My sessions are 50 minutes long. I offer a 20 min discovery call to meet you and answer your questions.

     

    Single Sessions

    When life is going pretty well and we just need a little tweaking, like tuning a guitar, to get back into resonance with ourselves and gain some clarity, a single session can go a long way. It may also be a very busy moment in life and there is not much time to commit for regular therapy. One-off sessions can still work wonders, giving strength, support and insight from within the body itself.

     

    A Five Session Cycle

    This is ideal if you have a certain issue in mind that's been there a while and you are ready to work on it. Five sessions allows for a contained and naturally sequential process. A journey begins, goes further, reachs a peak, winds down, and then settles. It offers a contained process and time for pause and integration until it feels like it's time for another therapeutic cycle. This approach is particularly well-suited for those who worry that therapy is a never-ending process, as it is short enough to commit to and long enough to allow a transformational process to unfold.

     

    A Season of Change

    This is a commitment to three months weekly sessions for when you know that that's what you need. Regularity and longer process matter when there are many layers, particularly when trauma is relational, developmental and there is chronic pain or auto-immune symptoms. Is this journey calling you? Have you tried everything else and still feel stuck in an old pattern? This is a gift for yourself when you're ready.

    Free Weekly Qi Gong Practice - Online

    This movement practice is an ongoing weekly offering to nourish us each in our hero's journey, living our lives. With the intention of individual and community wellbeing, internally and externally, it is offered bi-lingually in Arabic and English. The duration of the session is 40 minutes and it is a regular weekly practice that I have been offering for since April 2020. My intention is that it helps keep people feeling connected and supported, especially during challenging times, with an opportunity to practice together some gentle medicine that reconnect us with our natural vitality.

    Somatic Experiencing (SE) is an alternative approach to healing trauma by supporting the innate capacities towards autonomic nervous system regulation. It happens through witnessed awareness of the body and its energy flows, slowed down to create safety and open up posibilities. IPPD - or Integrated Pre-Natal & Peri-Natal Dynamics - builds on SE and the work of Ray Castellino, Kate White, Lois Tresize and Cranio-sacral Therapists Anne & John Chitty to apply trauma healing to early, birth and pre-birth experiences.

    A combination of art-therapy and touchwork, using soft warm fabrics as well as human touch, the gentle enquiry of therapeutic presences is offered for those exploring healing of early imprints and developmental trauma. It builds on the work of Eugene Glendin who recognized the missing link in psychotherapy, or talk therapy, with regards to attunement with body sensations and trusting internal processes as sources of guidance. This modality is also informed by Somatic Experiencing.

    Gentle and accessible movement practices from the ancient traditions of yoga and qigong evoke an era of holistic medicine where body, mind and breath flow together to cultivate healthy energy, wellbeing and longevity. These sessions are customized for individual care and for groups. They are effective in maintaining good health, boosting immunity, balancing emotional volatility, releasing stress and improving balance. They are recommended as palliative care for people with auto-immune disorders and as preventative measures to keep dis-ease at bay.
